The Reliant brand focused on affordable, efficient, very small vehicles - so small that they could be classified as motorcycles. This allowed them to be registered in the UK for less than similarly priced 4 wheeled cars. The downside, of course, was that three wheels make them fairly easy to tip onto their side.
